Role Summary:
The Journalist – Snapchat will be responsible for creating short-form, visually engaging news stories tailored specifically for Snapchat Discover. This role demands strong editorial judgment, timely coverage, and a creative approach to storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, pitch, write, and script short-form & long-form news stories tailored for Snapchat.
Create snappy headlines, crisp storylines, and visually engaging scripts.
Collaborate with editors, video creators, and designers to produce daily news content.
Monitor breaking news and trending topics to deliver real-time, relevant, and credible stories.
Ensure all content follows brand guidelines, editorial standards, and platform best practices.
Adapt long-form stories into short, mobile-friendly, interactive formats.
Track performance metrics on Snapchat and refine content strategy accordingly.
Maintain accuracy, speed, and journalistic integrity at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or equivalent.
1–3 years of newsroom, digital media, or short-form video content experience (Snapchat experience is a plus).
Strong writing, editing, and news judgment skills.
Ability to create youth-centric, platform-native content.
Familiarity with Snapchat Discover, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds.
Basic understanding of visual storytelling and scriptwriting.
